I am an International Studies and Russian major with an emphasis on Human Rights at the University of Iowa but I am also extremely passionate about fiction writing. I am currently working on a collection of short stories and I have published one which I am super excited about. I am tentatively working on a novel to but its pretty much just for fun at this point. One of my favorite things to do is take really long walks and explore all the nooks and cranies of areas I haven't explored all the way yet and get lunch or coffee by myself, easedropping (not purposly being creepy) on conversations. It makes me feel more at tune with the world.

I also am in a band and sing kind-of blues-style indy music and frequently perform at a student run theater open-mike night kind of thing called No Shame Theater. I love meeting new people. Which is lame to say but true. I'm engaged to be married, though the wedding isn't tell the fall after next because I'll be in Russia studying abroad. I couldn't tell you why I'm so in love with Russia really, the langauge just sounds beautiful to me, the people are wonderful and the land is beautiful. I lived in a poor village there for a couple of summers without a foreign exchange program, with the idea being to live in Russia how a Russian would, not how an American visiting would and it was an amazing experiance, though I'll be thankful for the safety-net of having a foreign exchange agency there for me next fall.
